I could feel the excitement buzzing in the air as I made my way to Old Town Alexandria for an engagement session with a newly engaged couple. The sun was starting to dip below the horizon, casting a warm glow over the cobblestone streets and historic buildings. It was the perfect setting for a romantic photo shoot with a cute date night out vibe.

As I approached the meeting spot, I could see this sweet couple with so much excitement. The love and happiness radiating from them was palpable, and I couldn’t wait to capture it through my lens.

We started our session with a few signature shots on Prince St., the couple giggling and leaning on one another. I wanted to capture the playful and flirty dynamic between them, while also highlighting the romantic atmosphere of the location.

As we wandered through the streets of Old Town, I found myself drawn to the old-world charm of the architecture, the soft light filtering through the trees, and the way the couple’s laughter echoed against the historic buildings. Each shot felt like a scene from a classic film, filled with love, laughter, and a touch of nostalgia.

One of the challenges I faced during the shoot was the setting sun, which was casting long shadows and creating harsh lighting. I had to quickly adjust my camera settings and find creative ways to work with the light to ensure that the photos turned out beautifully.

Despite the challenges, there were many memorable moments from the shoot that made it all worth it. The engagement session in Old Town Alexandria had a film-inspired, romantic vibe that perfectly encapsulated the love and connection between the couple. It was a joy to witness and capture, and I couldn’t wait to share the photos with the couple, allowing them to relive the magic of that evening over and over again.

I can’t wait to document their wedding day this upcoming October! They will be getting married at Our Lady of Hope in Sterling, VA and celebrating at their reception at Rose Hill Manor in Leesburg, VA.
